Wiki
iPhone X
Apple announced iPhone X on September 12, 2017, and it went on sale on November 3.[1] It introduced an all-screen design with a 5.8-inch Super Retina HD display, added Face ID and replaced the Home button with swipe gestures.[1][2]
Display
The Super Retina HD display is 2436 × 1125 pixels at 458 ppi and follows the phone's rounded corners.[1][2] Held upright, a full-screen design is 1125 × 2436 pixels, with the notch for the TrueDepth camera at the top.[2] iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone XS share this size and resolution, so the same screens fit them.[4][5]
Design and colors
iPhone X was sold in two colors, Space Gray and Silver.[2] Both the front and back are glass, colored with a seven-layer process, and a polished surgical-grade stainless steel band wraps around the sides.[1]
Face ID and gestures
Face ID relies on the TrueDepth camera system: a dot projector, an infrared camera and a flood illuminator.[1] Without a Home button, you swipe up from the bottom to go home.[1] The back has 12MP wide-angle and telephoto cameras with a Quad-LED True Tone flash.[2][3]
