iPhone 12 Pro
iPhone 12 Pro is the 6.1-inch Pro model of Apple's 2020 lineup, announced with iPhone 12 Pro Max on October 13, 2020 and released on October 23.[1] It arrived with 5G, the A14 Bionic chip and the new Ceramic Shield front cover.[1][2]
Display
It has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display at 2532 × 1170 pixels and 460 ppi.[2] Held upright, full-screen artwork measures 1170 × 2532 pixels. A notch along the top edge contains the TrueDepth camera used by Face ID.[2] iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 Pro list identical resolutions, so one screen design serves all three.[4][5]
Design and colors
Its four colors are Pacific Blue, Gold, Graphite and Silver.[2] Apple calls them stainless steel finishes, and the flat-edge steel band frames a textured matte glass back.[1][3] The Ceramic Shield front is infused with nano-ceramic crystals.[1]
What was new
The 2020 Pro models added a LiDAR Scanner to the back, joining the Ultra Wide, Wide and 52 mm Telephoto cameras, which give a 4x optical zoom range.[1][2][3] They also introduced MagSafe, an array of magnets around the wireless charging coil for snap-on accessories.[1]
