Wiki
iPhone 8
iPhone 8 was announced on September 12, 2017, alongside iPhone 8 Plus, and went on sale on September 22.[1] It has a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with a Home button below it, in a new glass and aluminum design.[1][2]
Display
The LCD is 1334 × 750 pixels at 326 ppi, so portrait artwork is 750 × 1334 pixels.[2] Instead of a notch, iPhone 8 has a solid-state Home button with Touch ID below the display.[2][3] iPhone SE (2nd generation) and iPhone SE (3rd generation) have the same 4.7-inch size and resolution, so one design fits all three.[4][5]
Design and colors
Apple lists four finishes, Silver, Space Gray, Gold and (PRODUCT)RED, though only the first three were named at launch.[1][2] The glass back uses a seven-layer color process and meets a color-matched aerospace-grade aluminum band, while the flat glass front curves at its edges.[1][3]
Buttons and ports
The back has a single 12MP Wide camera with a True Tone flash, and a 7MP FaceTime HD camera faces the front.[2] Apple lists the Home/Touch ID sensor, volume buttons, a Ring/Silent switch, the side button and a Lightning connector; the side button and SIM tray are on the right.[2][3]
