Wiki
iPhone 16
iPhone 16 is the 6.1-inch standard model of Apple's 2024 lineup, announced on September 9, 2024 and released on September 20.[1] It is built around the A18 chip and a Super Retina XDR OLED display with the Dynamic Island.[1][2]
Display
Apple rates the screen at 2556 × 1179 pixels and 460 ppi, and the Dynamic Island sits at the top.[2] A portrait wallpaper or app screen should be 1179 × 2556 pixels.[2] It matches iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro exactly, so screens built for those phones drop in unchanged.[4][5]
Design and colors
Ultramarine, Teal, Pink, White and Black make up the range.[3] The band is anodized aluminum with contoured edges and the back is textured matte glass; every color except White uses color-infused back glass.[2][3]
New buttons
This generation brought the Action button and Camera Control to the standard iPhone.[1] The Action button is high on the left edge and Camera Control is low on the right.[3] On the back, the Ultra Wide and Fusion cameras are stacked vertically, and a USB-C connector sits on the bottom.[3]
