Wiki
Samsung Galaxy S9
Galaxy S9 is the 5.8-inch model of Samsung's Galaxy S9 and S9+ pair, introduced on February 25, 2018 and available in select markets from March 16.[1] It introduced a Dual Aperture rear camera, Super Slow-mo video at 960 frames per second and AR Emoji.[1]
Display
The curved Super AMOLED Infinity Display measures 5.8 inches at an 18.5:9 ratio, with a Quad HD+ resolution of 2960 × 1440 pixels and 570 ppi.[1][2] The screen curves at the edges into the body and has no notch, with slim bezels at the top and bottom.[1][3] The default resolution is Full HD+ and can be changed to Quad HD+ in Settings.[1] For full-screen art, work at 1440 × 2960 pixels and keep key content away from the curved edges and rounded corners.[1][3]
Design and colors
Samsung offered Galaxy S9 in Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple, a color new with this model.[1] The body measures 147.7 × 68.7 × 8.5 mm, weighs 163 g and is rated IP68.[1] It uses a high-strength aluminum alloy with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, and the fingerprint sensor sits beneath the rear camera.[2][3]
Camera and chip
Galaxy S9 has a single 12MP rear camera with a Dual Aperture that supports F1.5 and F2.4 modes, and an 8MP front camera.[1][2] Samsung's release describes the chip as a 10nm 64-bit octa-core processor; its Singapore support page names the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and the Exynos 9810, depending on the country.[1][2] It shipped with Android 8 (Oreo) and stereo speakers tuned by AKG.[1]
