MacBook Air 13-inch M2
MacBook Air 13-inch M2 is the redesigned 13.6-inch MacBook Air that Apple announced on June 6, 2022 and released on July 15, a week after orders opened on July 8.[1][2] It introduced the M2 chip, a larger 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, MagSafe charging and two new finishes, midnight and starlight.[1]
Display
The Liquid Retina display measures 13.6 inches diagonally, with a native resolution of 2560 × 1664 pixels at 224 pixels per inch and 500 nits of brightness.[3] The display has rounded corners at the top; Apple expanded it closer to the sides and up around the camera to make room for the menu bar, which leaves a camera housing (the notch) built into the screen bezel.[1][3][4] For full-screen art, work at 2560 × 1664 pixels in landscape; the part of the image behind the camera housing at the top of the screen is hidden, so keep logos and text away from it. MacBook Air 13-inch M4 has the same size and resolution, so a single screen file covers both.[5]
Design and finishes
Apple made it in Silver, Starlight, Space Gray and Midnight.[1] The all-aluminum unibody enclosure is 0.44 inch (1.13 cm) high, 11.97 inches (30.41 cm) wide and 8.46 inches (21.5 cm) deep, weighs 2.7 pounds (1.24 kg) and has a silent, fanless design.[1][3]
Keyboard, ports and camera
The Magic Keyboard has a full-height function row with Touch ID, above a Force Touch trackpad.[1] A MagSafe 3 charging port, two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack cover charging and connections.[3] The speakers and mics are integrated between the keyboard and the display, and the camera is a 1080p FaceTime HD camera.[1][3]
