MacBook Air 13-inch M1
MacBook Air (M1, 2020) is Apple's 13-inch notebook announced on November 10, 2020 and released the following week, on November 17.[1][2] Apple introduced it alongside a 13-inch MacBook Pro and a Mac mini as the first Macs with the M1 chip, in a fanless design with P3 wide color added to the Retina display.[1]
Display
The Retina display measures 13.3 inches on the diagonal, with a native resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels at 227 pixels per inch, 400 nits of brightness and P3 wide color.[3] For full-screen art, work at 2560 × 1600 pixels in landscape, a 16:10 rectangle.[3] MacBook Air 13-inch 2018 has the same size and resolution, so a single screen file covers both.[4]
M1 chip
The M1 chip has an 8-core CPU, a 7-core or 8-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine.[1][3] Apple described M1 as the first in a family of chips it designed specifically for the Mac.[1] The notebook has a fanless design and stays silent in use, according to Apple.[1]
Design, keyboard and ports
It has a wedge-shaped design, 0.41 to 1.61 cm tall, 30.41 cm wide and 21.24 cm deep, and weighs 1.29 kg.[1][3] The backlit Magic Keyboard has 12 function keys and Touch ID, and the trackpad is a Force Touch trackpad.[3][1] It has two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and Apple sold it in Space Gray, Gold and Silver.[3][5]
