Wiki
Apple Watch Ultra 3
Apple Watch Ultra 3 is Apple's 49mm titanium sports and adventure watch, announced on September 9, 2025 and released on September 19.[1][2] It introduced built-in satellite communications, 5G cellular and display borders 24 percent thinner in an unchanged case size.[1]
Display
The Always-On Retina display has an active area of 422 × 514 pixels at 326 pixels per inch and a display area of 1245 sq mm, under a flat sapphire crystal.[2] It reaches up to 3000 nits peak brightness, uses LTPO3 and wide-angle OLEDs, and in always-on mode refreshes once a second instead of once a minute.[1][2] For full-screen art, work at 422 × 514 pixels in portrait and keep important content away from the corners: Apple's developer documentation notes that most watches have rounded corners that may clip content.[2][3]
Case and finishes
The case is Grade 5 titanium and measures 49mm high, 44mm wide and 12mm deep.[2] Apple made it in natural and black titanium; the natural finish weighs 61.6 grams and the black 61.8 grams.[1][2] Both have an orange ring on the Digital Crown, a sapphire crystal over the display and a ceramic back.[4] Apple says the case is 100 percent recycled titanium and is made with a 3D printing process.[1]
Action button, Digital Crown and side button
Apple Watch Ultra models have a third button not found on other Apple Watch models, the customizable Action button.[5] Runners can use it for Precision Start or to mark segments, and pressing and holding it turns on the siren.[1][5] The other controls are the Digital Crown, which has haptic feedback, and the side button, and the case has a raised Crown Guard.[2][5] Apple also lists double tap and wrist flick gestures among the controls.[2]
