Wiki
Apple Watch Series 7
Apple Watch Series 7 is the 2021 model of Apple Watch, announced on September 14, 2021 and released on October 15 in 41mm and 45mm sizes.[1][2] It introduced a display with 1.7 mm borders, a thicker front crystal, IP6X dust resistance and 33 percent faster charging.[1]
Display
The 45mm model, the size of this 3D mockup, has an Always-On Retina LTPO OLED display of 396 × 484 pixels with a 1143 sq mm display area and 1000 nits brightness; the 41mm model measures 352 × 430.[3] The borders are 1.7 mm, which Apple says is 40 percent smaller than on Apple Watch Series 6, and a refractive edge makes full-screen watch faces and apps appear to connect with the curvature of the case.[1] For full-screen art, work at 396 × 484 pixels in portrait and keep important content away from the corners, which Apple describes as softer and more rounded on this design.[1][3]
Case, materials and finishes
The 45mm case measures 45mm high, 38mm wide and 10.7mm deep, and weighs 38.8g in aluminum, 51.5g in stainless steel and 45.1g in titanium.[3] Aluminum came in five colors, midnight, starlight, green, blue and (PRODUCT)RED; stainless steel in silver, graphite and gold; and Apple Watch Edition in titanium and space black titanium.[1][2] Aluminum models have Ion-X glass over the display, stainless steel and titanium models have sapphire crystal, and all have a ceramic back.[4]
Digital Crown and side button
On the side of the case, the Digital Crown sits above the microphone and the side button.[5] GPS + Cellular models have a red ring on the Digital Crown.[4] On the back, the band release buttons sit at the top and bottom, with the electrical heart sensors, optical heart sensors and blood oxygen sensors in the middle.[5] Series 7 also added a QWERTY keyboard that can be tapped or swiped with QuickPath.[1]
