Wiki
Apple Watch Series 6
Apple Watch Series 6 is the 2020 model of Apple Watch, announced on September 15, 2020 and released on September 18 in 40mm and 44mm sizes.[1][2] It introduced a Blood Oxygen sensor and app, the S6 System in Package and new blue and (PRODUCT)RED aluminum cases.[1]
Display
The 44mm model, the size of this 3D mockup, has an Always-On Retina LTPO OLED display of 368 × 448 pixels with a 977 sq mm display area and 1000 nits brightness; the 40mm model measures 324 × 394.[2] With the wrist down, Apple says the display is up to 2.5 times brighter outdoors than on Apple Watch Series 5.[1] For full-screen art, work at 368 × 448 pixels in portrait and keep important content away from the corners: Apple's developer documentation notes that most watches have rounded corners that may clip content.[2][3]
Case, materials and finishes
The 44mm case measures 44mm high, 38mm wide and 10.7mm deep, and weighs 36.5g in aluminum, 47.1g in stainless steel and 41.3g in titanium.[2] Aluminum came in silver, space gray, gold, blue and (PRODUCT)RED; stainless steel in silver, graphite and gold; and Apple Watch Edition in natural and space black titanium.[1][4] Aluminum models have Ion-X glass over the display, stainless steel and titanium models have sapphire crystal, and all have a ceramic back.[4]
Digital Crown and side button
On the side of the case, the Digital Crown sits above the microphone and the side button.[5] GPS + Cellular models have a red ring on the Digital Crown.[4] On the back, the band release buttons sit at the top and bottom, with the electrical heart sensors, optical heart sensors and blood oxygen sensors in the middle.[5]
