iPad Pro 11-inch 2018
iPad Pro 11-inch 2018 is the first-generation 11-inch iPad Pro, announced on October 30, 2018 together with a 12.9-inch model and released on November 7.[1][2] It introduced an all-screen design with Face ID, the A12X Bionic chip and a USB-C connector in place of Lightning.[1]
Display
The Liquid Retina display measures 11 inches on the diagonal, with 2388 × 1668 pixels at 264 ppi and ProMotion up to 120Hz.[1][2] Its rounded corners follow the curves of the enclosure, inside a black front bezel.[1][3] For full-screen art, work at 1668 × 2388 pixels in portrait; landscape is the same file turned.[2]
Design and finishes
Apple made it in Silver and Space Gray.[1][2] The body measures 247.6 × 178.5 × 5.9 mm and weighs 468 grams.[2] Apple fitted the 11-inch display into the same footprint as the earlier 10.5-inch model.[1]
Face ID, USB-C and Apple Pencil
Face ID came to iPad for the first time with this generation; it uses the TrueDepth camera and works with iPad Pro held in any position.[1] A USB-C connector replaces the Lightning connector, and the tech specs also list a Smart Connector and a magnetic connector.[1][2] The second-generation Apple Pencil attaches magnetically and charges wirelessly.[1]
