Wiki
A pizza box is a shallow, square corrugated box folded from one sheet, with a lid hinged at the back. It needs no glue or tape: the walls fold up and lock, and the lid tucks in. The construction follows FEFCO style 0426.
The front wall rolls over and locks, the side flaps of the lid tuck inside the walls, and the lid closes flat over the pizza. Our model has 15 panels and 16 crease lines, all on one sheet.
Pizza boxes are named after the pizza: a 12-inch box is 12 inches wide and deep inside and 1.5 to 2 inches high. This one starts at 305 × 305 × 45 mm (12 × 12 × 1.77 in); at that size the flat sheet measures 398 × 801 mm. Pizzerias use E-flute or B-flute board, kraft or white on the outside.
The lid is the billboard. Most pizza boxes are printed in one or two colors on the lid, often with the sides left plain. A printed inside lid is used for offers and reorder codes.
Pick the size of the pizza and the box follows. Sizes are the inside of the box, so a 12-inch pizza has a little room around it.
| Pizza | Inside of the box | Set it to |
|---|---|---|
| 10 inch | 10 × 10 in | 254 × 254 × 45 mm |
| 12 inch | 12 × 12 in | 305 × 305 × 45 mm. The size this mockup starts at. |
| 14 inch | 14 × 14 in | 356 × 356 × 45 mm |
| 16 inch | 16 × 16 in | 406 × 406 × 45 mm |
The size of a pizza box is the inside width and depth. Stock boxes are 1.5 to 2 inches (38 to 51 mm) high inside; this one starts at 45 mm and you can change it.
A pizza box is ordered by the thousand, so people want to see it first.

Try the new logo on the box in the sizes you actually sell.

Put the box in the deck next to the menu and the signage.

Send a pizzeria a picture and a dieline the same day.

Choose 10, 12, 14 or 16 inch, or type your own length, width and height. The editor accepts 180–500 × 120–500 × 30–140 mm. Height can be up to 55% of the width.

Click Upload artwork and drop your logo on the flat sheet. The lid is the large square panel; the crease lines show where the sides and the front flap begin.

Drag the Fold slider from Flat to Closed to see the lid come down. Stop at Open to check what the customer sees when the box is lifted.

Render a JPG or PNG up to 4K for your menu, your site or a delivery app. Export the dieline as a PDF or SVG at full size and send it to your box supplier. Ask them to check it against their own board and machines and to make a sample before the full run: board thickness, tolerances and glue areas differ from one factory to the next.
Every box opens in the same live 3D editor.
Three kinds of file come out of the same project. The picture is for showing the box; the dieline is for making it.
| File | Format | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Image | JPG or PNG, 2K or 4K | Store pages, pitch decks, social posts |
| Cut-out | PNG with a transparent background | Your own layouts and product photos |
| Dieline | PDF or SVG at full size, 398 × 801 mm at the starting size | Your printer or box maker: cut lines, crease lines and your artwork in place |
The dieline is drawn from the size and board you set. It is a starting file for your printer, who will check it against their own board, machines and glue areas and make a sample before a full run.
