Wiki

iPhone Duo

iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable iPhone, announced on September 9, 2026.[1] It opens like a book, from a 5.4-inch outer display to a 7.6-inch inner display.[1][2] Before launch it was widely reported as the iPhone Fold.[5]

Two displays

Closed, iPhone Duo works through its 5.4-inch outer display. Opened, the 7.6-inch inner display gives a tablet-sized canvas, and Split View shows two apps side by side, a first for iPhone.[1] The inner display is 1878 × 2670 pixels and the outer display 1398 × 2034 pixels.[2] On this mockup each screen takes its own artwork.

Design

Apple describes it as the thinnest iPhone ever when open, with a precision hinge and a nano-texture finish that reduces glare and makes the crease less visible.[1] It comes in two finishes, Night Sky and Star White.[2]

Before iPhone Duo

Book-style foldables open horizontally like a book; clamshell models fold along a horizontal axis.[3] The Royole FlexPai, sold from late 2018, was the first commercially available foldable phone with an OLED display.[3][4] Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Fold in February 2019 and released it that September, after early review units had display failures.[3]
